This far-reaching positive influence is felt and furthered thanks to employees’ individual local efforts, and most importantly, the passion with which they champion them.
CBRE prides itself on having “feet on the ground” in all major markets; and the corporate giving campaign focuses on two measures that embrace that quality and allow our employees to showand build ontheir compassion for others.
The company helps financially supports its employees in the causes they feel most strongly about. Beginning in 2009, all funds specified for local giving under the guidelines established by local or regional CBRE Cares committees, as well as 75% of the general funds raised through our annual campaign including the company match, will be returned to local offices and client account teams to be allocated to efforts and causes most important to them.
CB Richard Ellis has also aligned its philanthropic works more closely with our business, by focusing on providing shelter and housing to those in need. This new initiative will create opportunities for giving of both time and money for all employees, and the company is excited to see how this program will help enable others to rebuild their lives.
The firm’s newly updated CBRE Cares motto, “Building on Compassion,” tells this story and poses a challenge: CB Richard Ellis wants its employees to continue to be leaders in their communities, build on the great works they’ve accomplished thus far, and embrace its newly formed shelter program. To reflect the new focus, the firm has added a rooftop to the CBRE Cares logo. This small change makes a big statement and it clearly shows what CB Richard Ellis plans to doput a roof over the heads of deserving people who need a place to call home.
Each professional represents CBRE in their neighborhoods, and the company fully appreciates the importance of that responsibility. The new CBRE Cares motto, “Building on Compassion,” is a call to action that will challenge our employees to expand their leadership positions in their communities by supporting charities and rebuilding lives through the shelter program.
