CB Richard Ellis to Partner with Rebuilding Together for NFL-Sanctioned ‘Kickoff to Rebuild’ Charity Event

Annual Super Bowl volunteer effort will focus on revitalizing low-income neighborhood

Dallas, Texas – January 25, 2011 – CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (CBRE) has announced that it will join Rebuilding Together on Thursday, February 3, to help revitalize a dozen homes in need of repair and perform general community clean-up in the Arlington, Texas, neighborhood of Drummond Drive as a sponsor of the nonprofit’s 16th annual Kickoff to Rebuild charity event.

Sanctioned by the National Football League, Kickoff to Rebuild aims to bring together approximately 1,000 people, including NFL players, celebrities, community members and volunteers to rehabilitate a low-income neighborhood in the Super Bowl host city. As a Community Leader Sponsor of the 2011 event, CB Richard Ellis will provide 250 volunteers and financial support for the effort.

“CBRE and Rebuilding Together have collaborated to improve the housing opportunities for many individuals in need across the country, and Kickoff to Rebuild is the ideal event to launch the next chapter of that valued partnership,” said Michael Caffey, Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Dallas/Fort Worth offices. “This special event combines the positive spirit of the Super Bowl with the enthusiasm of local volunteers and the star power of celebrity guests to do good for communities in need, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this year’s effort.”

As part of Kickoff to Rebuild 2011, CBRE volunteers will assist with a variety of projects at 12 houses with critical needs, as well as a comprehensive neighborhood clean-up effort. Volunteers will also perform repairs at some of the 15 additional low-income homes in the community, and will help build a new playground for the neighboring Speer Elementary School. Additionally, a number of CBRE volunteers have signed on to assist with preparation work prior to Kickoff to Rebuild.

On February 3, Rebuilding Together will also host a community celebration as part of Kickoff to Rebuild that includes a street fair, music and refreshments, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“CBRE’s dedication to volunteering in communities and cities where their employees live and work greatly helps Rebuilding Together achieve its goals on a consistent basis,” said Gary A. Officer, president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “CBRE has proven an active and engaging collaborator, and we look forward to the impact we will make together.”

In 2010, CB Richard Ellis selected Rebuilding Together and HomeAid America as its national charitable partners to help implement the company’s Shelter Program—the cornerstone of its philanthropy program, CBRE Cares. To launch the Shelter Program, in September 2010, more than 1,000 CBRE professionals participated in over 20 housing rebuilding projects alongside Rebuilding Together and HomeAid in communities across the U.S. as part of CBRE’s “Get Out and Give Back BuildMonth 2010.”

CBRE Cares is governed and executed by the CB Richard Ellis Foundation, an independent, non-profit, public-benefit corporation that funds CB Richard Ellis’ philanthropic initiatives.
