Australia’s economy continues to record growth, which is supporting activity in the commercial property market. Investment in the mining sector remains steady, and recent months have seen a pick-up in building approvals and a rise in corporate earnings. The outlook for rent growth across major markets is mixed; it is being led by the industrial sector, which appears to be capturing some of the retailers’ value chain. The investment market remains active, with domestic groups having upped their activity over the course of 2012, and the country also continuing to be popular with overseas investors.
