Botswana is a landlocked country situated to the centre of the Southern Africa plateau. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, by Zimbabwe to the northeast and Namibia to the west and northwest. Botswana is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa and in the whole world. Its strong trade-oriented economy is based on mineral resources and ample foreign exchange reserves derived from balance-of-payment surpluses. It has an abundance of world-class tourist attractions and one of them recently hosted the former president of the USA, Mr. Bill Clinton, during his last term of office.

Gaborone is the main commercial and industrial centre in Botswana, being the capital city.
