CBRE INITIATIVES
CBRE Announces Global Research and Consulting Increasingly, our clients are seeking global perspectives and strategic advice when it comes to their business strategies and resulting real estate strategies and operations. In response, CBRE is optimizing its global capabilities in a host of ways to meet these needs.
CBRE’s Global Chief Economist, Ray Torto, and Executive Managing Director of Strategic Services for GCS, Karen Ellzey, have joined forces to collaborate on the development of a platform to provide clients with an enhanced global offering in the areas of market research, econometric forecasting, and consulting services—also known as Global Research and Consulting (GRC).
GRC is a global management model that is enables CBRE to identify, organize and enhance current and future capabilities in the areas of global research, forecasting and consulting to ensure we are meeting the needs of both investor and occupier clients.
Although it is still in the early phases of implementation, GRC is already engaged in several activities that will ultimately result in new and improved offerings for GCS clients. A sampling of current priorities includes:
Globally enhanced and consistent market research information and data infrastructure
Improved global consulting offerings in key areas, including:
- Occupancy cost reduction
- Portfolio optimization
- Workplace transformation
- Labor analytics

CBRE Strategic Sourcing Continues to Achieve Success through Group Bidding With more than 2.2 billion square feet under management, CBRE offers a foundation for the most advanced and comprehensive procurement and sourcing platform in the commercial real estate industry. An integral part of CBRE’s sourcing strategy involves the management of group bids with other CBRE-managed facility management accounts for products/services typically negotiated on a one-off basis. Utilizing leading sourcing technology and best practices of the sourcing network, CBRE is able to leverage $20 billion in managed spend to generate significant savings and service optimization for CBRE clients.

CBRE Named to FORTUNE Roster of Real Estate Industry's Most Admired Companies CBRE has been named to the annual roster of the Most Admired Companies in the U.S. real estate industry, complied by FORTUNE. The survey covers 64 industries and is one of the most definitive report cards on corporate reputations. Companies are rated on a host of measures related to corporate performance. CBRE scored particularly well in people management, social responsibility and global competitiveness.

EPA Names CBRE ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for Second Straight Year For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named CBRE as a ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. CBRE is the only commercial real estate services firm to receive this award. "We continue to use the ENERGY STAR program as a foundation of our broad sustainability efforts across our property management portfolio. We are greatly honored to be recognized by the EPA again," said David Pogue, National Director of Sustainability and head of the company’s green initiative in the Americas region. "This honor is also in recognition of the continued efforts of our employees, clients and tenants who have endorsed and embraced our sustainability programs, and who are working hard to make a difference."

CBRE Named Corporate Real Estate Partner of the Year at CoreNet Global U.K. Awards CBRE's Global Corporate Services Lexmark account team was awarded the coveted Corporate Real Estate Partner of the Year award at the 13th Annual CoreNet Global U.K. awards in February 2009. The team was commended by the judges for its use of diplomacy and negotiation to transform the fragmented in-house real estate functions of Lexmark into a globally integrated team that aligns the business' overall objectives.

CBRE Ranks #8 in IAOP’s 2009 Global Outsourcing 100 List The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) has announced its top 100 Global Outsourcing companies across all industries for 2009. The list recognizes the world’s best outsourcing service providers, and is based on applications received and evaluated by an independent panel of judges. CBRE is the highest-ranked commercial real estate services company and is ranked eighth overall. The IAOP noted that references from our GCS customers were particularly strong.
This is the third consecutive year that CBRE has been included on the Global Outsourcing 100 list. CBRE’s continued inclusion in the IAOP’s Global Outsourcing 100 reflects the company’s position as the commercial real estate industry’s premier provider of corporate and institutional services globally. According to IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett, "CBRE has successfully demonstrated that it is committed to continuously improving its long-term leadership position in outsourcing."
