NORTH HOLLYWOOD AREA North Hollywood, is a district in the San Fernando Valley, which was once known as Lankershim and was subsequently renamed North Hollywood in an effort to capitalize on the glamour and proximity of Hollywood proper. The area is experiencing a time of transformation and growth with several medium-to-high density construction projects underway and the development of the “NoHo Arts District,” which is home to numerous contemporary theaters, art galleries, cafes, boutiques, and other shops.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD HOUSING AND DEMOGRAPHICS The North Hollywood area has recently experienced a wave of newly constructed residences and businesses. With additional development projects underway, North Hollywood is proving to be a hub for growth and rejuvenation.

GEOGRAPHY Located in the eastern portion of the San Fernando Valley, North Hollywood is bounded by Valley Village on the west, Sun Valley on the north, Burbank on the east and Toluca Lake/Universal City on the southeast. The eastern and southeastern portions of the area are home to many of the entertainment studios.

TRANSPORTATION North Hollywood offers residents convenient access to many of the surrounding areas via public transportation. A Metro Rail station is located here, the MTA North Hollywood Subway station of the Red Line which is the starting point for the entire Los Angeles Subway System, and the terminus of the Metro Orange Line busway, with its route to Warner Center, is across the street. With the introduction of the Red Line and the Orange Line, the two lines have made the city into a regional hub for the San Fernando Valley.
The North Hollywood Subway Station will offer easy access to the highly anticipated Metro Studio @ Lankershim. According to www.metrostudiolankershim.com "NBC Universal announced plans to create its West Coast News and Content Center at Metro Studio @ Lankershim, and also intends for Metro Studio @ Lankershim to serve as home to NBC Network News' Los Angeles Bureau, KNBC, KVEA, and Access Hollywood."
Located at the Metro Rail's Universal City Station (one stop away from the North Hollywood Subway Station), "the Metro Studio @ Lankershim will encourage employees to take public transit to and from work, minimizing the impacts on the local neighborhood."

THE NoHo ARTS DISTRICT NoHo Park Apartments are within one block of the heart of the North Hollywood area known as the NoHo Arts District, a one-square mile community, which is home to numerous contemporary theaters, art galleries, cafes, boutiques, and other shops. This walkable, urban village offers more than 20 theatres, six art galleries, public art, professional dance studios, the largest concentration of music recording venues, annual festivals, international dining options and a myriad of clothing and specialty shops. NoHo is a one-stop arts & entertainment destination.

Theatre in NoHo NoHo is California's largest theatre district with more than 20 theatres producing adventuresome, new work. NoHo theatres are known for their quality productions, regularly featuring actors who have starred on Broadway, on TV and in feature films. Many of the NoHo theatres have won LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, LA Drama Critic Awards and Valley Theatre League's Artistic Director Achievement Awards. On many nights, NoHo has 12 to 18 productions from musicals to dramas to comedies - new work and revivals. A large number of the theatres are intimate, 49 to 99 seat equity waiver theatres. This size theatre creates an intimate atmosphere, making viewers feel very much a part of the play.
