It is divided into two sub-markets: the 129 million square foot Downtown Los Angeles Market and the 152 million square foot Commerce/Vernon Market. The market is bound by the Harbor Freeway (110) to the east, the San Gabriel River Freeway to the west, the Century Freeway (105) to the south and the Pomona Freeway (60) to the north. A majority of the real estate was built in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
The major industries in the market are apparel, food/cold storage, general merchandise/ wholesale, manufacturing and warehousing/distribution.
