Case Studies CBRE Automotive Properties Group secures flagship location on behalf of Gulliver USA

Gulliver USA, Japan’s largest reseller of used vehicles, sought space for a flagship location in Torrance, California, to launch its United States distribution network. Kenji Sakai of the CBRE Japan Desk in Torrance tapped the assistance and expertise of CBRE’s Automotive Properties Group, led by Jodi V. Meade, SCSM, CCIM, in Downtown Los Angeles. Jodi secured a 28,000-sq.-ft. dealership showroom and service facility on 3.5 acres in the heart of Torrance’s “Auto Row,” for a total lease value of $6.5 million. Gulliver USA plans to further expand into Orange County and San Diego County, with out-of-state locations to follow.
CBRE Professionals from Sydney and Los Angeles Unite to Secure BMW Group Australia

James Shanks, MRICS, Director of Global Corporate Services in our Sydney office, tapped the assistance and expertise of CBRE’s Automotive Properties Group, led by Jodi V. Meade, SCSM, CCIM in Downtown LA to respond to an RFP from BMW Group Australia.
BMW needed consulting, transaction management, relocation, and acquisition services to assist in their revised strategy for the Sydney metropolitan area. The assignment comprised of approximately 300,000 sq. ft. of space, and included the immediate relocation of a BMW dealership and service facility in Sydney, and a long-term solution, which involved identifying a location to occupy a state-of-the-art showroom, sales & service facility, as well as a facility for new and used vehicle preparation, parts storage/distribution, and car storage.
Although Colliers had assumed a driver’s seat position in their relationship with BMW Group Australia – and the RFP response timeframe was tight – James, Jodi and their teams worked together from half a world away to create and deliver a presentation that won the assignment and secured the business with BMW.
