Mission to Africa

In 2007 Erik embarked on a three week mission trip through South Africa where he and 16 others visited Binga, Zimbabwe to live, interact and deliver spiritual encouragement to thousands of Tongan people.

The trip took Erik to 6 villages including Manjolo, Nsenga, Musenampongo, Bulawayo Kraal, Samende and Binga where he visited 7 primary and secondary schools, delivering bags of pencils, pens, paper, jump ropes, markers, chalk, erasers and soccer balls to the head masters.  In addition, his group conducted medical clinics that provided basic care for more than 1,000 people.
 

Other accomplishments of his trip included:

• Visiting 8 churches, where they gave food, soap and other basic necessity items to more than 80 widows.
• Providing 70 orphans with school uniforms and assisting with a year’s tuition for each.
• Aiding in the funding, construction and painting of two homes.
• Pulling together a vacation bible school with over 350 Manjolo children.
• Assisting in a leadership training seminar of over 100 local and regional pastors.
