Peter Nixon has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience. Since joining CB Richard Ellis in 1988, Peter has consistently been a top land sales producer. He has built his partnership with Kris Riley into one of the most successful land teams within CB Richard Ellis, and in Northern California.
Peter has negotiated agricultural, pre-development, residential, commercial, industrial, and multifamily land sales ranging from small urban in-fill properties to large ranches. Representing both buyers and sellers, he has completed over 250 transactions, totaling more than 55,000 acres, with several hundred million dollars in transaction value.
Personally knowing many of the decision makers in the real estate industry not only provides Peter with access to those who make deals, but also knowledge as to how to structure individual transactions. Additionally, Peter and Kris have meticulously maintained a database of contacts for many years, enabling them to effectively mass market properties.
The downturn of the market has lead to a partial transition into representing lenders of non-performing assets and lender-owned real estate.
Peter’s research-based approach to the business is one that both maximizes land owner value and creates buyer opportunity. By identifying the best uses and possibilities for a property and focusing effort on those best able to convert on those possibilities, he is successful in creating the basis for a transaction. On the acquisition side, Peter employs a disciplined approach to evaluating and comparing the feasibility and pricing of multiple properties, which enables buyers to make informed decisions.
