Michael Smith serves as Executive Managing Director for the Greater San Francisco Bay Area offices of CB Richard Ellis. He also serves on the CB Richard Ellis Americas Operations Management Board (AOMB). The San Francisco Bay Area market is one of the most important commercial real estate markets in the world, producing a very significant amount of local commercial real estate services business. The Bay Area is also a major exporter of commercial real estate services, working globally through its large concentration of international corporate bases.

Mr. Smith facilitates the alignment of full service operations in the Bay Area, including Brokerage Services, Valuation and Advisory Services, Facilities Management, and Project Management. He is also responsible for the effective implementation of a Bay Area business development strategy, to recruit and retain the best talent in the industry, and insuring a financially sound and growing business.

Prior to coming to the Bay Area, Mr. Smith spent nineteen years specializing in industrial and R&D leasing and sales in San Diego. Since joining CBRE in 1999, Mr. Smith has managed each of the company's Bay Area offices, including San Jose, Oakland, Pleasanton, Peninsula and San Francisco. He effectively integrated Insignia into the company in 2003, and Trammel Crow Company in 2007, positioning CBRE as the number one property management agency and the top real estate services company in the Bay Area.
