Gary Lawrence is an Executive Vice President in the Washington, DC office of CB Richard Ellis. Specializing in retail investment sales, Mr. Lawrence has 27 years of commercial real estate experience. In the last 12 years, he has participated in the sale and financing of over 215 neighborhood strip centers, multi-anchored regional power centers, enclosed malls, and portfolios totaling more than $5.5 billion. He joined CB Richard Ellis as a result of the July 2003 merger with Insignia/ESG, where he began working in 1980.
Along with his partner Bill Kent, Mr. Lawrence helped establish their team’s retail sales presence and success in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is a member of CBRE’s Institutional Group and National Retail Investment Group and has been recognized by CBRE as one of their Top 200 Investment Sales Brokers.
Prior to becoming a retail specialist in 1992, Mr. Lawrence had the responsibility of establishing Insignia/ESG’s presence in Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia and was involved in over $500 million in sales and leasing transactions during that period. Before joining Insignia/ESG, Mr. Lawrence spent ten years with the IBM Corporation, where he was a Project Sales Manager, Headquarters Program Manager and Branch Sales Manager.
