Francis Pons began his professional career in London, England as a trainee with Johnston Evans and Co. and Anstey Horne and Co.
In March 1973, he joined Richard Ellis International, becoming Chairman of Richard Ellis Spain later that year. Mr. Pons was responsible for the opening of the first office in Madrid. In 1982, he opened the Barcelona office and the Lisbon office in 1988.
Mr. Pons had an integral role in forming Richard Ellis Residential in Madrid in 1994, and establishing the Palma de Mallorca office in 1996. His distinguished experience includes the development of Richard Ellis as the undisputed leader in the commercial real estate field in Spain.
At the time of the merger, Mr. Pons was Deputy Chief Executive of Richard Ellis International worldwide. In his position as Chairman of CB Richard Ellis Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Pons heads a strong management team consisting of finance, consulting, marketing, and sales professionals that will position CB Richard Ellis as the leader in the Latin America and Caribbean markets.
In addition to the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Headquarters, located in Miami, Mr. Pons oversees 9 regional offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela. Mr. Pons is also a member of the CB Richard Ellis Global Operations Management Board.
