Dennis Carson joined CB Richard Ellis as part of the company’s acquisition of Blackrock Retail Property Advisors, where he was co-owner and co-managing member of the firm since its inception in 1996. At the time of CBRE’s acquisition, Blackrock was among the Southeast region’s leading providers of shopping center investment brokerage services.
Originally raised in South Florida, Mr. Carson returned to the area in 1993 and together with Casey Rosen started an investment brokerage business within the Brandon Company, a shopping center management and leasing firm that was acquired by the Trammell Crow Company in 1994. Thereafter and prior to co-founding Blackrock, Mr. Carson and Mr. Rosen ran a business unit within Trammell Crow that specialized in investment sales across property types throughout Florida.
From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Carson was an Associate in Chemical Banking Corporation’s real estate finance group based in New York. He was involved in the real estate department’s national merchant banking group, which focused on national developer accounts and loan syndications, real estate investment banking and loan restructuring. Mr. Carson completed Chemical Bank’s credit and advanced credit training programs, and has a BSBA from Boston University.
