Arpit Shah is a Senior Project Manager for CBRE Hotels in Atlanta, GA. With over ten years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, he is responsible for providing brokerage, advisory and financing services to hoteliers throughout the United States. He specializes in single assets and portfolios of premium extended-stay, upscale limited-service and full-service hotels.
As of September 2008, Mr. Shah has managed the disposition process for over 50 hotels with a transaction volume of nearly $500 million throughout 18 states and the Caribbean. Mr. Shah has managed assignments that have involved firms such as AEW, Apple REIT, Ashford Hospitality, Burroughs and Chapin, GE, GMAC, Hersha Hospitality, Inland American Lodging Group, Lone Star Opportunity Fund, Moody National Companies, Noble Investment Group, RLJ Hotels, Somera Capital and Winston Hotels. In 2007, Mr. Shah was recognized by CBRE’s Investment Properties Division and received an Outstanding Achievement Award. Prior to joining CBRE Hotels in January of 2005, Mr. Shah was the Asset Manager for Winston Hotels Inc., a publicly traded REIT with over 50 hotels that was sold to Inland American Lodging Group for a total consideration of approximately $850 million in 2007. In addition to leading the firm’s asset management division, Mr. Shah played an integral role in the firm’s acquisition and development projects, mezzanine financing program and the execution of a $100 million acquisition fund joint-ventured with a Boston-based private equity firm. Before joining Winston Hotels, he was a Senior Consultant for PKF Consulting in Atlanta, GA.
Originally born and raised in South Carolina, Mr. Shah received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Operations from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. During his college career, Mr. Shah held internships at Choice Hotels International, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and American Express. Mr. Shah holds his real estate license in the state of Georgia and is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi. For leisure, Mr. Shah enjoys spending time with his wife and son, watching college sports and traveling.
