John Ferguson is a Senior Vice President with CBRE’s Atlanta office where he specializes in assisting both local and multi-market companies with strategic real estate solutions. With an emphasis on office tenant representation solutions, working in coordination with CBRE’s top office production team of John Shlesinger, Sam Holmes and Anne Lofye. Mr. Ferguson also participates on the Executive Committee of CBRE’s Law Firm Advisory Group. Prior to 2009, Mr. Ferguson was Senior Managing Director, the market leader for CBRE Atlanta, and had management oversight of all of the service lines.
As CBRE’s Atlanta market leader, Mr. Ferguson, who was recognized in 2008 and 2007 with CBRE’s President’s Performance Award, was responsible for the growth and production of one of the company’s most effective offices. He oversaw CBRE’s Atlanta operations and was primarily responsible for sales leadership, customer satisfaction, corporate leadership and strategy. The Atlanta market is comprised of more than 700 employees, including more than 150 brokers specializing in all areas of commercial real estate: investment management and brokerage, industrial, retail, office, corporate services, project management, asset services, valuation, appraisal, financing, research and marketing. In 2008, CBRE Atlanta completed leasing, sales and financing transactions on behalf of its clients that together totaled more than $15 billion. The Atlanta office is one of the highest producing single offices within CBRE, and is the number one commercial real estate services company in Atlanta, as ranked by the annual “Top 25 Brokerages” list in Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Prior to 2006, Mr. Ferguson was a Senior Vice President with CBRE in the Office Tenant Representation Group. In that capacity, he worked with companies such as Computer Associates, FleetCor Technologies, Inc., McGriff Siebels & Williams, Morgan Keegan & Company, Trimont Real Estate Advisors and R.R. Donnelly Company. Preceding CBRE’s acquisition of Insignia/ESG, Mr. Ferguson participated in Insignia/ESG’s National Biotech Practice, as well as the firm’s Law Firm Advisory Group.
Mr. Ferguson is the former President of McGriff Seibels & Williams of Georgia, where he assisted clients with risk management and insurance solutions. While there, he worked with corporate CFOs and other senior executives in a wide variety of firms, including the telecommunications, banking and financial services, manufacturing and non-profit industries.
He is a native of Athens, Georgia and is married with two children.
