John Ferguson is Executive Managing Director for the Southeast Region; he is responsible for overseeing CBRE’s operations in Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville, as well as being the primary relationship manager for the operations of CBRE affiliate offices in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Prior to his regional appointment, Mr. Ferguson has held both leadership and production roles within the Atlanta Office; his expertise and working knowledge of the local brokerage department has helped him transition into senior management.
As CBRE’s former Atlanta market leader, Mr. Ferguson had complete management oversight of all of the services lines within the Atlanta Office and was accountable for the growth and production of one of the company’s most effective offices. In this capacity, he oversaw the Atlanta operations and had primary responsibility for sales leadership, customer satisfaction, corporate leadership and strategy. At the time, the Atlanta Office was comprised of more than 500 employees including over 100 brokers specializing in all areas of commercial real estate: investment management and brokerage; industrial; retail; office; corporate services; project management; asset services; valuation; appraisal; financing; research and marketing. The Atlanta Office was recognized for its success during his tenure and received CBRE’s prestigious President Performance Award on two separate occasions. Today, the Atlanta Office remains one of the highest producing single offices within CBRE and the top commercial real estate brokerage within the city of Atlanta.
Prior to 2005 and again from 2009-2010, Mr. Ferguson served a Senior Vice President with CBRE in the Office Tenant Representation Group focusing on multi-market office tenant representation and overall business development. As a broker, he worked with companies such as FleetCor Technologies, Inc., McGriff Siebels & Williams, Morgan Keegan & Company, Tremont Real Estate Advisors, and R.R. Donnelly Company. Prior to CBRE’s acquisition of Insignia/ESG, he participated in Insignia/ESG’s National Biotech Practice, as well as the firm’s Law Firm Advisory Group.
Mr. Ferguson is the former President of McGriff Seibels & Williams of Georgia, where he assisted clients with risk management and insurance solutions. While there, he worked with corporate CFOs and other senior executives in a wide variety of firms, including the telecommunications, banking and financial services, manufacturing and non-profit industries.
He is a native of Athens, Georgia and is married with two children.
