Wendell F. Brooks, III currently serves as a Senior Vice President for CB Richard Ellis, LLC with a focus on retail leasing, shopping center sales and development brokerage. Wendell began his career with Chaney, Brooks & Co. in 1984. In 1990, he relocated to the Big Island and began to develop a statewide practice again with an emphasis on retail brokerage and retail development. In 2002, Wendell returned to Honolulu and formed a team of specialists that currently oversees a portfolio of over 2 million square feet and over $1 billion in value. In the last four years alone, his team has sold 14 shopping centers and completed over 150 leases.
Over the years Wendell has been involved with noteworthy development projects including The Crossroads project in Kona, The Piilani Village Center on Maui, Kaiser Permanente’s $350,000,000 clinic expansion, Chevron properties, Safeway’s statewide expansion and Maryl Development’s commercial portfolio.
Wendell’s team is currently involved in five new major shopping center developments totaling over 1,000,000 square feet on three islands. They include:
