Based in Chicago, Jack Durburg is Executive Managing Director – Chicago Region. In addition to leading the Chicago market area with the local leadership team, he also provides oversight to CBRE’s Minneapolis and Wisconsin markets. He joined CB Richard Ellis in June 2001 as a Managing Director and member of its Chicago regional management team; was named Senior Managing Director and overall market leader in July 2003; and promoted into his current position in December 2007.
Mr. Durburg and the Chicago management team lead one of CB Richard Ellis’ largest and most profitable operations in the Americas. Chicago is the fourth largest operation for CBRE in the Americas boasting 2007 gross revenues of over $165 million. CBRE Chicago has five offices strategically located throughout the metropolitan area—Chicago Downtown, Oak Brook, Schaumburg, Rosemont and Bannockburn—home to over 850 employees including 180 professionals—across 20 lines of business.
M&A integration has become a core competency for Mr. Durburg. In 2003, CBRE completed the acquisition of Insignia ESG. Mr. Durburg led the highly successful integration of the two firms in Chicago. In December of 2006, CBRE completed the acquisition of The Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Durburg once again lead the integration of the two firms in Chicago. “The experience gained from the Insignia ESG integration has already played a significant role in the early success we have enjoyed thus far with the Trammell Crow Company integration”.
Mr. Durburg is responsible for all regional activity and ensuring a financially sound and growing business. He directs the successful integration of all 20 services lines and the centralization of company resources for the clients’ benefit. With 20 years in the business, Mr. Durburg is well versed in all aspects of commercial real estate, and serves as an advisor to the leaders of major corporations and institutional owners. He is one of the foremost industry experts in Chicago, a sought-after speaker, and a respected CB Richard Ellis leader.
Professional Experience Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Durburg served a six-year tenure at Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc., Chicago, where he served as Vice President and Regional Leasing Director.
Mr. Durburg was born in Chicago in 1965. He and his wife Jennifer live in north suburban Chicago with their three sons—Jake, Ryan and Matt. Achievements
