Professional Experience With over a decade of commercial real estate experience, Christopher Connelly is currently Senior Managing Director with CB Richard Ellis. In addition to being a member of the region’s executive management team and leading the Downtown office, he has the additional responsibility of CBRE’s Occupier Practice Group, which includes: Tenant Representation, downtown and suburban; Transaction Consulting that supports Tenant Representation; and Global Corporate Services. He also oversees the occupier business for both the Industrial and Retail services.
Mr. Connelly rejoined CBRE in 2004 as Managing Director of the Chicago Suburban Office Brokerage Group, leader of the Schaumburg office and member of the region’s executive management team; and was promoted into his current position in October 2008. Mr. Connelly brings a broad range of experience to his management role, including experience in investment and leasing in office, industrial and land properties.
Mr. Connelly began his career at LaSalle Partners, specializing in industrial brokerage before migrating his practice to the office side of the business. He then had a successful stint as a Senior Vice President and Regional Leasing Director for Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was responsible for their Chicago suburban office business as well as the local market tenant representation business in the Midwest Division.
During his brokerage career, he completed more than $30,000,000 of land dispositions on behalf of BP Amoco at Cantera Business Park between 2000 and 2003. He also completed one of the largest suburban office transactions of 2002 with the 132,000-square-foot sublease at Two Lincoln Centre in Oakbrook Terrace on behalf of Exelon. As an industrial professional in 1996, Mr. Connelly was a part of the team that completed the 800,000-square-foot build-to-suit for Crate and Barrel's distribution facility in Naperville.
