Michael L. Gerard is a Senior Managing Director with CB Richard Ellis. He is responsible for goal setting, strategic growth initiatives, enterprise selling, cross-market collaboration, planning and performance management for eight offices across five states of the Midwest region. Service lines include brokerage, tenant representation, investment property sales, asset services / property management, facility management, project management, global corporate services, mortgage origination, valuation and advisory services.
Mr. Gerard most recently served as the Managing Director of the Detroit office. This position entailed leading over 500 professionals and staff and was responsible for all metropolitan activity and ensuring a financially sound and growing business. He directed the successful integration of all service lines and the centralization of company resources for the clients’ benefit. Under his leadership, the Detroit region ranked #1 on Crain’s Detroit Business’ List of Top Brokerage Firms in Detroit
With twenty-two years in the business, Mr. Gerard is well versed in all aspects of commercial real estate, and serves as an advisor to the leaders of major corporations and institutional owners. He is one of the foremost industry experts in the industry, a sought-after speaker, and a respected CB Richard Ellis leader.
Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Mr. Gerard was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director with Grubb & Ellis, where he provided guidance on strategic planning, organizational direction, and the pursuit of long-term marketing objectives. While in this position, Mr. Gerard was also appointed National Director of the Telecom Group. Mr. Gerard has exclusively represented corporations such as Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Affinia Corporation and Kelly Services, Inc. He has successfully closed over 990 lease and sale transactions with an aggregate consideration of over one billion dollars. Achievements
