The Greater Lansing Area is comprised of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties, with the City of Lansing, Michigan's capital city, at the center. The regional population is approximately 450,000, and is spread across a multitude of smaller towns, each with their own distinctive identity. Buoyed by a diverse economy, excellent schools, affordable housing, and numerous recreational opportunities, the region is one of the most attractive places to live in the Midwest.
Economically speaking, the Greater Lansing Area is stable, supported by a diverse employment base including State Government and Michigan State University. The region draws labor from throughout Mid-Michigan thanks to a mature network of Interstate roadways connecting the area with virtually all of the other population centers of the state, usually an hour or less drive away.
Michigan State University is naturally the center of the education sector in the Greater Lansing Area, with nearly 45,000 students from over 100 countries. The region is also home to Lansing Community College, with over 20,000 students, and Cooley Law School, the nation's third largest law institution.
