Since starting his IT career on Wall Street in 1987 and moving to commercial real estate in 1994, Jeff Hipschman has developed increasingly innovative ways to create opportunities for tenants, owners and service providers alike.
Creating “an information advantage” is one way that Mr. Hipschman utilizes his unique IT and research background to provide colleagues and clients with a distinct approach to the commercial real estate markets. As Managing Director of the Central New Jersey office, Mr. Hipschman has management oversight of all service lines. In addition, having developed a highly specialized practice in the area of corporate data centers, critical facilities and business continuity, he applies his IT expertise directly on behalf of owners and tenants whenever technology impacts a real estate strategy or decision.
Tapping his 15-plus years of IT-related experience, Mr. Hipschman has bridged technology and real estate strategies for some of the largest and most respected technology and technology-dependent companies in the world, including Lehman Brothers, UBS, Bloomberg, Microsoft, Accenture, AT&T, CitiGroup, JP Morgan Chase, The Bank of New York and The Walt Disney Company. As a practice leader in CBRE’s Technology Practice Group, he also helps lead a national network of CBRE professionals involved in technology-intensive real estate transactions.
Mr. Hipschman has also been involved in introducing a number of industry “firsts.” From the first Web-based transaction management system to leading the launch of a New York City commercial property listing exchange, he continues to find new ways to move, process and analyze market information, giving clients new insight into the markets in which they operate.
Mr. Hipschman began his career in the commercial real estate industry at Julien J. Studley, Inc., where he ultimately was named Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer with oversight of all IT-related initiatives and operations. Jeff Hipschman is a frequent speaker at local, national and international industry events. His keynote appearance at the International Real Estate Symposium in Barcelona, Spain, was the first time an IT-related real estate professional was invited in such a role.
