Since starting his career on Wall Street, Jeff Hipschman has developed a unique skill set focused on the creative development, management, and expansion of multi-disciplined organizations. Tapping his 20 plus years of broad business experience spanning Information Technology, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal and specialized brokerage transactions, Jeff brings a comprehensive management perspective to his role of Senior Managing Director, overseeing 120 professionals in three locations that comprise CB Richard Ellis’ New Jersey operations.
In his role, Mr. Hipschman is responsible for the management of all business lines across New Jersey, as well as all operating and support units. This includes Office and Industrial Brokerage, Asset Services, Project Management, Investment Properties, Research, Marketing, Legal and Finance. Tapping his extensive IT and operations background, Mr. Hipschman looks to create “an information advantage” for both his colleagues and clients through a quantitative, data driven approach to the commercial real estate market.
In addition to his management role, Mr. Hipschman continues to apply his Wall Street based IT background to the advantage of major corporations and clients of CBRE. As the Tri-State leader of CBRE’s Technology Practice Group, he directly advises some of the largest and most respected technology-dependent companies with their data center strategies and technical space acquisition projects. Mr. Hipschman’s “technical real estate” clients include Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Bloomberg, JP Morgan Chase, The Bank of New York / Mellon, Metro PCS, AT&T and The Walt Disney Company.
Mr. Hipschman has also been involved with several industry changing initiatives involving the movement and processing of information. From the first Web-based transaction management system to leading the launch of the REBNY / New York City commercial property listing exchange, he continues to find new ways to improve the efficiencies and offer colleagues and clients new insight into the markets in which they operate.
Mr. Hipschman began his career in the commercial real estate industry at Julien J. Studley, Inc., where he ultimately was named Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer with oversight of all IT-related initiatives and operations. Previously, he was an equity trading systems specialist for Lehman Brothers and, prior to that, Salomon Brothers.
