Norman Bertke oversees all aspects of Asset Services for CB Richard Ellis’ diverse and extensive portfolio of commercial, industrial, office and retail properties in Central and Southwest Ohio. Norm's managed portfolio is approximately 17 million square feet, and his responsibilities include supervision of all operational activities, staffing, budgeting, client relations and management reporting for CB Richard Ellis’ clients.
Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Mr. Bertke was the Senior Vice President of Asset Services for Columbus Commercial Realty (CCR), which was acquired by CB Richard Ellis on October 1, 2005. Norm was responsible for growing the CCR managed property portfolio from 4 million to 8 million square feet while with the firm. Norm’s varied background in Project Management and Real Estate includes a stint as a Real Estate Manager with YUM Brand Restaurants, where he was responsible for restaurant site selection, contract negotiations and development for KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants. At YUM Brands, Norm negotiated many real estate contracts and utilized his strong project management background to maintain project schedules and focus the development team.
Prior to YUM Brands, Norm was a Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) where he managed a variety of properties for institutional and private owners including a 1.5 million-square-foot trophy office property in the Chicago CBD. At JLL, Norm managed the region’s product enhancement and recruiting efforts while leading all activities for a large office portfolio. His project management experience includes five years as an Acquisitions Officer and Captain in the United States Air Force, where he managed $100+ million acquisitions of high-tech satellite equipment. In his last assignment, Norm was honored as No. 1 of 700 officers at his base as “Senior Company Grade Officer of the Year.”
