Mr. Fischer is a senior vice president for CB Richard Ellis and leads the National Tax Credit Advisory Group.  He has over 25 years of real estate and finance experience.  The National Tax Credit Advisory Group assists general partners, syndicators and investors in refinancing or selling properties that have reached the end of their compliance period and enable owners to liquidate their interest and capitalize on their investments, among other activities.  The Group, based in Columbus, Ohio, has substantial experience with low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) development, syndication, management, financing, compliance and investor reporting within the industry. 

The National Tax Credit Advisory Group is part of CB Richard Ellis’ Capital Markets and Investment Properties umbrella and operates within the Multi-Housing Group.  CBRE is the nation’s leader in multi-housing property sales with a transaction volume of $7 billion in 2008, nearly double that of its nearest competitor.   In 2008, CB Richard Ellis was rated the “Top US Apartment Broker” by Real Capital Analytics, a title which it has held every year since 2001.

Formerly, Mr. Fischer was President of a national real estate advisory firm operating in the LIHTC industry.  He was accountable for the identification and development of new business opportunities including real estate development, debt placement, equity syndication, brokerage, commercial and multi-housing leasing, property management, construction management, and advisory services.  In addition, he led the firm’s initiative to identify and implement a disposition strategy for LIHTC assets.  The execution strategy included the sale of General Partnership interests, Limited Partnership interests, and fee simple property transfers for approximately 60 LIHTC properties.

Prior to that position, Mr. Fischer served as the Senior Vice President and Director of Portfolio Services at Trammell Crow Company (TCC), where he was responsible for the bottom-line success of Portfolio Transaction Services for the client’s (KeyBank National Association) commercial real estate portfolio.  Prior to TCC, Mr. Fischer was with Koll, as Senior Investment Officer and District Manager.  His experience includes over $300 million in real estate mortgage financing in the multi-housing sector.
