Crestview - Crestview – In 2004, Huntsman Chemical Corporation announced a relocation plan from Austin to Houston, Texas. The development of the vacated site presented several opportunities including future access to the proposed rail line and multiple uses for the property. The challenges included extensive environmental remediation, city public transportation approvals, an unsightly electrical substation development adjacent to the tract and the inclusion of existing ball fields required to be included in future development. The solution was a master planned community that integrates retail and office space, a unique live/work component, urban style multifamily residences and small lot residential units in a walkable transit oriented community.
