CB Richard Ellis has named Gary Coker as the new Managing Director of Asset Services for the Salt Lake City offices of CB Richard Ellis.  Mr. Coker will oversee the operations activities throughout the state of Utah, manage an Asset Services operation consisting of approximately 6 million square feet, and provide guidance and strategy for the CB Richard Ellis Asset Services team.

Gary began his real estate career over 10 years ago as a property and fund level accountant with Jones Lang LaSalle in their Chicago corporate offices.  Shortly thereafter he transferred to Salt Lake City and moved directly into real estate management, managing a historic downtown Salt Lake City high-rise.  In this role Gary oversaw numerous remodeling and building improvement projects which helped reposition the building and allowed ownership to increase the building’s occupancy from roughly 50% in 1998 to over 95% in early 2002 when the building was sold.

Gary most recently managed 1.4 million square feet of office, industrial and retail properties for three separate clients in the Salt Lake Valley.  In this role, Gary was directly responsible for all day to day operations of each property, including staffing, service contracting, construction management, client reporting, budgeting and client relations.

Gary is a CPA and a licensed associate broker in the state of Utah.  He received a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma
