Office Profile

Salt Lake City Area has 1 office(s).

Salt Lake City has been cited by virtually every prestigious publication as one of the top metropolitan areas in the nation.  In the year 2000 alone, Places Rated Almanac voted Salt Lake City the “Best Place to Live in North America,”  Money Magazine named it the “Best Western City to Live in the U.S.,” and Forbes magazine called it “one of the top 20 best places in America to do business or advance your career.”

Today, job growth rate in Utah has outdistanced the national job rate for 9 consecutive years.  Over the past two decades, Utah’s job growth has outdistanced U.S. job growth for all but 2 of those years.  In 2005, Utah’s job growth – at nearly double the national average – was the highest in the nation, and moving forward into 2007, Utah is expected to achieve job growth of 5.2% as compared to a national average of only 1.4%.

As a right-to-work state, with a labor force that is expected to increase at twice the national average between 2003 and 2030, Utah is well-positioned to meet the needs of its hot job market.  In addition, Utah’s workforce is one of the youngest, healthiest and most educated in the country. Utah boasts a median age of 27.9 years (as opposed to a national median age of 35.3 years), and ranks 5th in the nation for both the overall health of its workforce and for the percentage of persons who have completed high school (a whopping 90%). Best of all, Utah’s consistently low unemployment rate implies a workforce that wants to produce.

Long known as the “Crossroads of the West,” Salt Lake City is ideally located to distribute what its workforce produces.  It is central not only to all the major metropolitan areas in the Western U.S. (five of them seaports), but to Mexico and Canada as well.  With over 700 trucking companies, 1,400 miles of railroad track and 16 cargo carriers, Utah is a great location for product distribution.  Air cargo volumes within the state have grown at an average annual rate of 9%, and freight service can easily offer same-day delivery to 11 western states, and beyond.

Utah encourages new industry in every important way.  In 2004, the Pacific Research Institute published a study in conjunction with Forbes magazine that ranked Utah the 5th best state for economic freedom based upon more than 150 variables including taxes, regulatory obstacles, judicial indicators and welfare spending.

Consistently high in-migration to Utah adds qualified personnel to the labor pool as both businesses and individuals seek out a quality of life that is simply not available anywhere else.  Life in Utah offers a sweet mix:  job opportunities, low cost of living, low crime rates, affordable higher education, top notch health care, and cultural diversity. Best of all – and uniquely among cities – Salt Lake City offers a side-by-side mix of outdoor recreation and urban entertainments.  Outside magazine ranked Salt Lake City as the “Best Place to Live” in its August 2005 edition.  In the same issue, Outside named Salt Lake City among America’s “New American Dream Towns,” for its “commitment to open space, smart solutions to sprawl and gridlock, can-do community spirit and an active embrace for an adventurous life.”
