With more than 630 corporate offices (including Turner & Townsend) and nearly 8 billion square feet of managed property globally, CBRE has an outsized opportunity to help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through our own operations, buildings managed for clients, real estate development and our supply chain. CBRE’s strategy to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040 focuses on four key pathways:
Our report details our efforts to reduce emissions across our corporate operations and drive impact across the built environment through sustainability solutions delivered to our clients around the world. We have made significant progress to reach our near-term 2030 target to cut Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions by 50% (from our 2019 baseline), realizing a 31% reduction in 2024. Our near-term 2030 target to reduce emissions from properties managed for clients by 55% per square foot relies on collaboration with our clients and suppliers. We have reduced these emissions by 26% from our 2019 baseline and outlined key actions we will take to make further progress in our Climate Transition Strategy.
