Jonathan Rice is part of CB Richard Ellis’ (CBRE’s) Finance and Capital Markets Group. His duties include providing debt and equity placements, joint ventures, and development financing throughout the Southeastern United States.
The 20-year commercial real estate veteran was most recently a Senior Managing Director with Insignia/ESG Capital Advisors group, prior to that firm’s merger with CB Richard Ellis. Before joining Insignia/ESG, Rice was a Director in the Atlanta office of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P., where he was responsible for arranging various capital structures for the firm’s clients. He began his real estate career with the Allen Morris Company of Florida, where he was a tax and financial planning analyst. Rice then joined AmeriFirst Development Corporation as a financial vice president where he was responsible for the company’s finances as they related to its master-planned communities.
After AmeriFirst, Rice joined Lennar Corporation where he held various roles in both residential and commercial divisions. In 1993, he opened the company’s national real estate office in Atlanta that was primarily responsible for the firm’s investments in several large joint ventures with The Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund and Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. During that period he was responsible for managing the ventures’ finances and the resolution of more than $500 million of troubled real estate loans and restructuring and the securitization of another $1 billion.
He is currently an active member in the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Rice earned BS degree from Arizona State University and received his MBA from Florida Atlantic University.
