Starting his career with the company in 1985, Walter Luiz Monteiro Cardoso, completes thirty years of work with CBRE Brasil in 2015. Responsible for overall administration and for all lines of the company’s businesses since 1994, Mr. Cardoso has a Mechanical Technology and Civil Engineering degree from UNESP-SP and a specialization in Financial Mathematics from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation.
Mr. Cardoso has led several sectors since he started with the company, being responsible for the Department of New Project Development (‘85-‘89) and Director of Investments (‘89-‘94), placing the company as the leader within this Brazilian sector, where it operates currently. In 2007, the company reached the 4 billion Reais mark in the Investment Sector of the country.
As Managing Director of the company, from ‘94-‘98, he consolidated all commercial lines of business in Brazil, assisting with the implementation of several departments, such as Leases, Industrial, Corporate Services, Research, Investment and Valorization. Mr. Cardoso also assisted with the launching of the company’s representation in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia and in the Northeast.
Taking over the presidency role in ‘98, after the merger of Richard Ellis and American CB Commercial, Mr. Cardoso combined all lines of the company's performance and obtained a leadership spot in these market areas. From ‘99 onwards, he added a new line of business to CBRE/Services, dedicated exclusively to the areas of Property Management and Facilities Management, which currently excel in the market. In 2006, he added the activities of Trammell Crow Brazil to the operations of CBRE Services.
