Mr. Woodworth, Managing Director, is co-leader of the CBRE’s Public Sector Consulting team. He has over 25 years of hospitality industry experience in both a consulting and hands-on operational capacity. Mr. Woodworth specializes in providing strategic business advisory services to the Department of Defense and the federal land management agencies as relates to all forms of quality of life, recreation, and visitor services. Mr. Woodworth is based in Boston, but regularly visits the Washington D.C. area.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Woodworth served as a Senior Vice President at PKF Consulting USA (PKF), specializing in performing strategic and operational planning and analysis for public sector hospitality and recreation clients. He was responsible for coordinating all PKF activities, both public and private sector, in New England and in Washington D.C., as well as leading the firm’s Public Sector Advisory Services Group.
Before joining PKF, Mr. Woodworth was a Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and specialized in public sector hospitality consulting. Prior to that, he was a Director with the Landauer Hospitality Group, a division of Horwath Landauer Hospitality Consulting, where he focused on both public sector consulting projects worldwide, and private sector engagements in New England.
Mr. Woodworth has managed and conducted consulting assignments, involving both the public and private sectors, throughout the U.S. He has worked for the industry’s leading lenders, developers, chains and management companies and has dealt with all aspects of operations, development and financing including:
Strategic planning for community-wide hospitality services and recreation development
Consumer preference research, market feasibility analysis and financial and investment analysis of public sector hospitality, recreation and retail entities
Private sector market analyses, financial analyses, asset disposition, market studies and appraisal
Resorts, conference and convention centers and other hospitality industry projects
Workouts and repositioning of public sector hospitality assets operated by the private sector
Management company selection
Public sector management and franchise agreement negotiations
Mr. Woodworth has been published or quoted in numerous business magazines including Lodging Magazine, the Boston Business Journal, New England Hotel magazine and Northeast Real Estate Business, and has been quoted in local newspapers including the Boston Globe and Boston Herald. He has appeared on several occasions on National Public Radio. He has been a guest lecturer at the Boston University School of Hotel Administration, as well as lead presenter at numerous New England-based hospitality organizations.
