Jay Luchs, an Executive Vice President of Investment Properties and Brokerage Services, specializes in the sale and leasing of retail properties, with a focus on the Beverly Hills triangle and other streets in Los Angeles that are home to high end luxury retail stores (such as on Robertson Blvd, Melrose Place, Malibu Cross Creek Road, Rodeo Drive). Having been responsible for representing Tommy Hilfiger in bringing Brooks Brothers to their 20,000sf flagship store at 468 N. Rodeo Drive in 2003, Luchs has since completed other notable Rodeo Drive deals to include Etro, Harry Winston, Dolce & Gabbana (Men's Expansion), BCBG, bebe, Herve Leger, Penhaligon's, Graff, Georg Jensen, Davante, David Yurman, Jimmy Choo, Max Mara, Mont Blanc, Damiani, Missoni, Judith Lieber, Domenico Vacca and others.

Luchs also handled notable deals on the high profile Beverly Drive for Levi Strauss & Co., lululemon, Kira Plastinina, Jigsaw, L'Occitane, Geox, Planet Blue, Z Gallerie, and Lush Cosmetics. In late 2006 Luchs represented Lisa Kline (women's store) and client Apollo Advisors in a lease at 315 S. Beverly Drive helping bring the "Robertson Blvd" type tenant to S. Beverly Drive which has set the pace for similar new deals and has recently worked on creating a similar effect by bringing tenants to the restaurant and salon row, Canon Drive, adding retailers James Perse (flagship), E. Baldi, Lucky Fish (part of the Sushi Roku group), Fashionology, and Alice + Olivia.

Luchs has focused on helping build up Robertson Blvd to the trendy and internationally sought after street it is becoming, having in recent years been responsible for finding locations for Tory Burch, Ted Baker London, Kitson Men's store, Kitson Studio & Accessories store, Kitson Kid's store, Paige Premium Denim, Lisa Kline Men's store, Alice + Olivia, Coach, Kira Plastinina, Vince, Peter Alexander and Intermix's flagship store directly across the street from The Ivy restaurant.

Luchs has also completed recent deals on Melrose Place with Temperley London, Leggiadro, Me & Ro, Lambertson Truex, Sergio Rossi, Delia, Max Mara, BCBG Max Azria at the prime intersection of Melrose Place at Melrose Avenue, Catherine Malandrino on La Cienega Boulevard at the tip of Melrose Place and with Neil Lane on LA Cienega Blvd at Melrose Place. Luchs also signed leases just outside of the Melrose/ Robertson corridor with H&M Hennes & Mauritz on behalf of the landlord at The Sunset at Sunset Plaza and with RRL on Melrose Avenue adjacent Fred Segal.

One of Jay Luchs' most recent leasing accomplishments has been the Malibu Lumber Yard located at the corner of Cross Creek Road and Pacific Coast Highway. Having opened April 2009, this 30,000sf open air shopping center has one of the most unique tenant mixes in the United States. Tenant's include James Perse, Maxfield, Intermix, Theory, Tory Burch, Alice + Olivia, Planet Blue Kids, Kitson Men's, Crumbs Cupcakes, J Crew "at the beach", La Perla, and others to be announced.

Luchs was part of the recent sale of Cross Creek Plaza, now called Malibu Village which is adjacent to the Malibu Country Mart and Malibu Lumber Yard, and will be heading the leasing efforts on new deals there. Malibu Village will feature upscale fashion, local retail tenants, and restaurants which fit within the Malibu lifestyle.  Tenant mix will include luxury brands such as Missoni, True Religion and other retail/restaurants.  Existing tenants include Ron Herman's Free City, Marmalade Cafe, Malibu Theatre and others.

In addition to handling landlord and tenant representation in the Beverly Hills "triangle", in Malibu or on the Robertson-Melrose corridor, Luchs also focuses on representing landlords and tenants in select locations outside of Los Angeles primarily in trendy and hip or very upscale areas such as in Georgetown, Washington DC, Chevy Chase, Maryland, in New York City's Soho and Fifth Avenue and on Post Street in San Francisco. Currently he has a listing in each of those places.

In 2006 Luchs joined a New York-based CB Richard Ellis team to help lease the former Asprey space at Trump Tower (56th and Fifth Avenue) which was leased to Gucci for their 46,000sf flagship store.

Investment Sales: Luchs is part of the team responsible for selling 306-310 N Rodeo Drive in 2002 to Grosvenor USA for $19.2 million, then leased the building to Harry Winston and bebe.

In April 2004, Luchs represented a buyer in one of the fastest transactions involving a Rodeo Drive retail sale to a New York-based individual who bought the Coach/Omega building at 325-327 N. Rodeo Drive for $20 million or $2,666 per square foot, the highest price ever paid per square foot for U.S. retail at the time. Neighbors include Prada, Gucci, Fendi, and Tod's.

In 2006, Luchs was hired as a co-broker to sell the Gucci building at 347 N. Rodeo Drive, a deal that closed north of $40 million or $3,300 per foot in January 2007.

In July 2007, Luchs represented buyer and seller of 228-240 Post Street with anchors including Ann Taylor, Boucheron, and other tenants in a $70 million sale, one of the highest price per square foot transactions in San Francisco's Union Square market. He is now handling the leasing of that site.

Luchs also was involved with the sale of the Sharper Image office/retail building in Beverly Hills in 2006 and represented buyers in the rare "off market" purchases of property on Robertson Blvd and Melrose Place in early 2007, where tenants include Intermix, agnes b., Max Mara, and others.

Luchs is a 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
