Arpit Shah is a Vice President for the Hotels Group of CB Richard Ellis based in Atlanta, GA. With nearly 15 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, he is responsible for providing brokerage and advisory services to hoteliers primarily in the southeastern United States. He specializes in single assets and portfolios of premium extended-stay, upscale limited- and selected-service hotels.
Having joined the Hotels Group in December of 2004, Mr. Shah has been involved in over 60 closings comprising a transaction volume of nearly $500 million in just five years. Born and raised in the Carolinas, Mr. Shah's expertise allows him to be most effective geographically south of Virginia and east of Texas. He specializes on hotel assets valued between $5 million and $15 million with a guestroom inventory between 50 and 200 units.
Prior to joining CBRE Hotels in January of 2005, Mr. Shah was the Asset Manager for Winston Hotels Inc., a publicly traded REIT with over 50 hotels that was sold to Inland American Lodging Group for a total consideration of approximately $850 million in 2007. In addition to leading the firm’s asset management division, Mr. Shah played an integral role in the firm’s acquisition and development projects, mezzanine financing program and the execution of a $100 million acquisition fund joint-ventured with a Boston-based private equity firm. Before joining Winston Hotels, he was a Senior Consultant for PKF Consulting in Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Shah received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Operations from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. During his college career, Mr. Shah held internships at Choice Hotels International, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and American Express. Mr. Shah holds his real estate license in the state of Georgia and is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi. For leisure, Mr. Shah enjoys spending time with his wife (Bijal) and two sons (Krish and Jai), watching college sports and traveling.
