Tom Ives, Senior Vice President, has been a key member of CBRE's Hotel Investment Properties Group since 1991. He focuses on single asset and portfolio sales of select service, mid-market and upscale hotels. Since joining Hotel Partners at its inception, Mr. Ives has participated in more than 150 transactions with numerous company recognitions, including Broker of the Year.
In March 2006, Mr. Ives teamed with Jim Johnson of CBRE’s Chicago office to close a record-setting, 143-hotel transaction totaling more than $1.4 billion between Tharaldson Enterprises and the Whitehall Street Global Real Estate Fund. In 2000, Mr. Ives teamed with other hotel investment sales professionals to form the Special Assets Group, a strategic initiative launched for the sole purpose of addressing the needs of institutional asset managers and CMBS special services.
Prior to joining Hotel Partners, Mr. Ives gained expertise in the areas of hotel financing, management consulting, market planning and development during his tenure with Holiday Corporation and Laventhol & Horwath. He was a founding member of Hospitality Capital Group, a franchise finance venture launched by the Promus Companies. As Vice President of HCG, Mr. Ives coordinated the start-up and directed on-going lending functions to franchisees for the acquisition, development and construction of Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns and Homewood Suites Hotels.
Mr. Ives is a graduate of Michigan State University’s School of Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management and recently received MSU's Distinguished 75th Anniversary Year Alumnus Award.
