The city’s most prominent, new
development – Giralda Place – will be instrumental to the area’s walkable
retail experience redefining Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue
MIAMI - August 15, 2017 – CBRE announced today that Ana Barcelo is spearheading the leasing of 13,395 square feet of premium retail and restaurant space at Giralda Place in Downtown Coral Gables. Fronting Giralda Avenue and abutting the new streetscape promenade transforming the city, the mixed-use project recently topped off construction at nine stories, with completion set for early 2018.
Located at 2222 Ponce De Leon Boulevard, Giralda Place spans an entire city block and will feature 33 luxury residences, Class A office space and ground-floor retail suites. It is walking distance to top hotels, restaurants, retail, and is just minutes from major thoroughfares and Miami International Airport. The project is co-developed by Heidi Eckes-Chantré, Kim Tabet and Christopher Brown.
“Giralda Place will deliver an exciting, new mix of ‘retail-tainment’ to Coral Gables, where locals can live, work, dine and shop, all in one sophisticated destination,” said Barcelo, first vice president at CBRE. “In addition to our premier location, the neighboring restaurant row nears completion of a city-led, $25 million street improvement project, which will tremendously increase the area’s walkability. This further complements Giralda Place’s desirable retail setting.”
As recently described in the Miami Herald of undergoing a “Retail Revolution,” the City of Coral Gables established a new vision for retail on Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue, with the goal of enhancing the economic vitality of Downtown Coral Gables. By closing vehicle traffic along Giralda Avenue, it will create “Giralda Plaza” to provide a cohesive, pedestrian-friendly experience with garden areas, outdoor dining, public art and more.
Local retail tenants will be focused on specific categories, such as fashion, accessories, active wear, home and design, and chef-driven restaurants. Giralda Place’s retail offerings will add to the new ambience of the metropolitan locale. Supporting this growth is approximately 5,600 businesses, including 150 multi-national corporations. Encompassing more than 55,000 employees, these companies represent notable industries such as international finance, health care, biomedical research, real estate and transportation.
“We are immersed in a renaissance of Coral Gables that is attracting prominent brands, such as our recently-announced tenants WeWork and HSBC, as well as a new residential audience seeking to live in the epicenter of this exciting activity,” added Brown. “Giralda Place is sure to boost retail traffic and usher a new lifestyle into the neighborhood”.
