Use CBRE’s New Workplace Tool, Spacer, To Find Your Perfect Office
Finding the right office space for your company is no easy task. Whether you’re looking to expand to a new location, moving offices or downsizing, determining what size, style and type of space you need is an arduous and daunting exercise.
Companies often look to workplace strategists to research current and future needs, coming together to create an action-based office space plan. However, smaller companies and start-ups are not always able to take advantage of services like this due to time and cost.
To streamline that process and reduce the time it takes to get from “we need a new office,” to “we love our new office,” CBRE recently created Spacer, a free, web-based tool to help companies best determine their space needs.
“Most large companies are now utilizing some degree of workplace strategy in their real estate process…”
“Most large companies are now utilizing some degree of workplace strategy in their real estate process, designing their space with data-driven understanding of how they work and what their employees care about. Smaller companies are also looking to create a workplace environment that attracts talent and engages employees in meaningful ways, but often without access to the resources larger organizations are using,” said Damla Gerhart, senior managing director and Americas lead for CBRE’s Workplace practice.
“Smaller companies are also looking to create a workplace environment that attracts talent and engages employees in meaningful ways…”
Through a 17-question quiz called a Profiler, which CBRE Workplace created based on decades of experience with hundreds of clients, Spacer learns about your company’s priorities, values and the way your team works. The questions range from “what are the most important things you look for when hiring new team members?” to “what’s the work schedule like for your employees?” By the end, the tool matches you to a customized office profile with specific metrics, example floor plans (that are interactive in 2D and 3D) and a breakdown of space types. It’s a custom office space solution, crafted in less than five minutes.
To top it off, if your company is looking for spaces beyond desks and meeting rooms, Spacer also takes that into consideration. Depending on your needs, the architect-ready programs come with suggestions for wellness rooms, community socializing areas and eating spaces.
