Kansas City Industrial Figures Q1 2022

The approximately 13.0 million sq. ft. of space under construction set a record for the Kansas City industrial market and evidenced a continued acceleration of demand for state-of-the-art industrial space.
Overall vacancy rates increased 20 basis points (bps) quarter-over-quarter, a result of over 1.0 million sq. ft. of vacant speculative space delivered in the quarter.
Meta, the parent company for Facebook, announced plans to build a nearly 1.0 million sq. ft. hyperscale data center facility. The project will be located at U.S. Highway 169 and NW 128thStreet in the Northland of Kansas City, MO. Total investment for the project is expected to exceed $800 million and create more than 1,300 construction jobs with the data center set to be operational in 2024.
