Carolina Suarez joined CBRE’s Restaurant Specialty Practice for the United States to work with Co-Leader and Senior Vice President, Jessica Curtis in the strategic growth and nurturing of emerging restaurant brands.
Ms. Suarez oversees a national portfolio of clients and offers her expertise in site selection, leveraged lease negotiations, subleasing, expansion needs, and branch/headquarter relocations. Her extensive experience and proven track record of success in the legal and real estate fields, are invaluable to Emerging Brands clients as they pursue their national growth strategies.
Ms. Suarez previously worked for Barteca Restaurant Group, the former parent company to Bartaco and Barcelona Wine Bar, where she met and collaborated with Ms. Curtis to grow the company’s real estate portfolio. In 2018, when DFRG, Inc., purchased Barteca for $325M, Ms. Suarez joined CBRE to work under the guidance of Ms. Curtis. To date, she has collaborated in the completion of transactions on behalf of such notable restaurant groups as Hawkers, The Little Beet, Postino Wine Bar and Five Guys.
Prior to Barteca, she worked in New York City as a Real Estate and Banking Paralegal, assisting legal counsels in hundreds of acquisitions, financings and leasing of shopping centers, office buildings, industrial and residential properties in major urban markets throughout the United States. Her practice in real estate with a particular focus on finance, led her to spearhead the representation of national banking institutions, investment management firms and private investors.
Ms. Suarez is founder of Take a Chance Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization in its seventh year, dedicated to the academic development of students on the road to college, through sustained mentorship.
