Crystal Lye joined CBRE in January 2019 and is an Associate with the Global Retail Services Team. Ms. Lye works alongside vice chairman David Lapierre and senior associate Kristen Crossman, specializing in both landlord and tenant representation.
Originally from Vancouver BC, Ms. Lye graduated from the University of British Columbia in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Real Estate. During her time there, she completed various internships with established commercial real estate firms, gaining hands-on experience in asset management, acquisitions, investment sales, and retail advisory. She was also the recipient of multiple scholarships, including the 2017 CREW Network Foundation Scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to connect with and become a part of her current team in New York City.
Prior to graduation, Ms. Lye competed in the prestigious Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition, an intensive five-day case comprising of analysis and strategy recommendation of an actual repositioning retail asset to high profile industry professionals. She also completed a summer internship with CBRE’s Retail Advisory and Transactions team, gaining relevant skills such as market research, comparable analysis, cap rate analysis, canvassing, pitching, and project management. The combination of such experiences has equipped her with the skills to effectively execute her current role – advising clients on making optimal real estate decisions customized to their retail needs and strategy.
