Darcy Mackay is President of Global Workplace Solutions West Division. In this role she is responsible for CBRE’s occupier clients in the Western 13 United States, overseeing more than 2,800 employees including the provision of Enterprise Facility Management, Project Management, Transaction Management and Strategic Consulting services. Darcy works extensively with leading Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 occupiers to transform their CRE performance by optimizing customer relationship management, governance, portfolio analytics, transaction management systems, and facility operations.
In her tenure with CBRE, Darcy has held many roles and recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Americas Occupier Advisory and Transaction Services business. Prior to that role, Darcy served as CBRE’s Global Head of Transaction Management and Portfolio Services, overseeing the operational excellence and growth of CBRE’s largest transaction management accounts. Darcy has also served as global head of Consulting as well as head of EMEA Client Accounts while based in London.
She has consulted with clients throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia to develop portfolio strategies, location/site selection, land use analysis and surplus property disposition. Her experience includes work in the areas of urban redevelopment, mixed-use/residential development, and university housing, and spans all asset types. She has also worked in a broad array of industries including R&D, manufacturing, financial services, insurance and technology, and specializes in portfolio optimization, corporate strategic planning, and organizational change and design.
Darcy has 22 years of experience in commercial and corporate real estate, and has been with CBRE for 17 years. She is currently based in San Francisco.
Darcy is a member of CoreNet Global and Commercial Real Estate Women. She has served on CBRE’s Americas Strategy Group and on Real Estate Forum’s Corporate Perspectives Editorial Advisory Board and CBRE’s Americas President’s Advisory Council. She formerly served as Director and past President of the CREW San Francisco Board of Directors and a member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Workforce Housing Loan Fund Technical Advisory Committee. In addition, she currently sits on the Governance Committee for Working Solutions, a San Francisco based micro lending organization.
She has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and served as a course instructor for CoreNet and the California Redevelopment Association. She frequently teaches and speaks to commercial real estate associations globally on a wide range of real estate issues.
In 2015, 2016 and 2017 she was named by the San Francisco Business Times as one of “The Most Influential Women in the Bay Area Business”. In 2009 and again in 2013, Darcy was named one of Northern California Real Estate’s Women of Influence. She was also named Institutional Investor News’s “Top 20 Rising Stars of Real Estate” for 2008, and was honored as one of Commercial Property News’s “Stars to Watch” in 2005.
Darcy holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Harvard University, where she was a John Harvard and Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Scholar. She also earned her Master of Public Policy degree, with an emphasis in real estate and land use economics, from the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley. She continued her executive education through Harvard Business School.
