Professional Experience

Gary Trock is a Senior Vice President with the New York Tri-State Region Retail Services Team and was a Managing Director with the Insignia/ESG Retail Group prior to that. Since joining the firm in 1999, Gary has represented both landlords and tenants in leasing, advisory and sales of retail properties throughout the New York metropolitan area. With more than 25 years of experience, Gary successfully manages transactions in both leasing and investment sales by serving clients on an advisory basis—developing strategies and leading marketing efforts to help achieve optimum values for assets through his leasing expertise and investment sales knowledge.

Notably, Gary and his team were responsible for the sale of the retail condominium at the former New York Times Building to the Kushner Companies; and leased approximately 200,000 sq. ft. at the property to National Geographic, Gulliver’s Gate, Guitar Center and Haru. The team was also responsible for the development, sale, and leasing of Extell Properties’ Lucida development on 86th Street and Lexington Avenue. At Lucida, his team successfully secured Bank of America, H&M, Barnes & Noble, & Sephora to lease approximately 150,000 sq. ft.

Recently, Gary has been actively involved in a number of ground-up developments including HFZ Capital’s 505 West 19th Street and 305 East 51st Street as well as Lightstone Group’s flagship Moxy Hotel. Gary was also involved in the repositioning of the retail at 750 Seventh Avenue and 902 Broadway for Fosterlane Management and Koeppel Rosen, respectively.

Gary has also represented numerous national retailers including H&M, Tao Group, BLT Restaurants, The Gap, Walgreen’s, Valley National Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Ferragamo, Borders Books & Music, Talbots, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Signature Bank, Sports Authority, Café Europa, Rite Aid Drug Stores, McDonald's, Old Navy, Payless Shoe Source, CVS Drug Stores, Sephora, Reaction, Bank of America, Citibank, J. Crew, American Express and Burberry.

As an owner's representative, he has negotiated retail leases for numerous top-tier landlords such as HFZ Capital, Extell Development, Lightstone Group, Macklowe Properties, Koeppel Rosen, Tishman Speyer, Wasserman Properties, Bronstein Properties, Gold Equities, Westbrook Partners , CIM  Group, Carlyle Group, Citibank, H.J. Kalikow & Co., Emmes Realty, Wein & Malkin, Boston Properties, Equity Office Properties, PMG Marketing, Omni Hotels, The Trump Organization, Tarragon Realty,  Swig Properties, Dermot Group,  Archstone-Smith, Blackstone, Tessler Group and Hiro Real Estate.
