Jeff Tigchelaar is a Retail Property Manager for CBRE Chicago. He is currently responsible for managing a portfolio of neighborhood retail centers and industrial complexes. Jeff has experience managing a variety of properties including strip centers, mixed-use buildings and commercial office buildings, with properties ranging in size from 100,000 to over 4,000,000 SF. The tenant mix at these centers includes Fortune 500 companies such as Accenture, Navteq and Publicis, national retail chains TJ Maxx, Walgreens and Staples and independent retailers Eggsperience and the Exercise Coach.
Prior to joining CBRE, Jeff was the Property/Asset Manager for the Merchandise Mart and Assistant General Manager of 180 N. LaSalle. He has over nine years of experience in Property Management. Prior to joining the real estate industry, Jeff was an Accountant, holding the position of Director of CAM Audits for General Growth and Assistant Controller at MMPI.
Jeff began his career after graduation as a Staff Auditor for Clifton Gunderson and, over the course of 12 years, he reached the level of Assistant Controller for MMPI.
At MMPI, Jeff moved from Accounting into Real Estate, spending time as Director of Retail Leasing, Assistant Property Manager, Director of Operations and finally Property/Asset Manager. He has managed as many as 200 employees while holding the role of Director of Operations. Jeff is currently a five-year member of the Chicago BOMA Diversity and Social Responsibility Committee, where he has been involved in community outreach such as Re-build Day and Food/Blood drives.
