Jim believes in challenging the status quo and thinking differently and the way Jim challenges the office leasing status quo is by working at the world’s largest full service brokerage firm but focusing exclusively on Office Occupier Services. Jim delivers workplace strategies that increase the negotiating leverage of tenants to generate more value per square foot from fewer square feet. The process he employs helps his clients understand what is achievable in the market rather than simply what is affordable and this paradigm shift is especially suited for startups and scaling tech companies but also for established multi-location corporations looking to realize savings in their real estate portfolio.
Mr. Wilson spent the first 23 years of his career with Cushman & Wakefield (formerly Royal LePage Commercial) and was recruited by CBRE in 2011 to help the company build its Office Occupier Services platform in the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor. Jim agreed to join the company because CBRE has by far the best combination of geographic scope and real estate services platform in the industry and the company is committed to continually improving on its results.
While Jim’s focus is Office Occupier Services he specializes in startups and scaling tech and life science companies in the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor and the Ontario Life Science Zone. A believer in giving back to the community, Mr. Wilson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and a mentor at The Innovation Factory in Hamilton and at Haltech in Burlington. When not spending time with his family, travel and fly fishing are passions that have taken Jim from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and the Annapurna to the Phi Phi Islands.
