In 2013, Joseph W. Kearney joined CBRE's Asset Services team in Cleveland as a Senior Real Estate Manager. Mr. Kearney is responsible for the opening preparations and subsequent day-to-day operations of the newly constructed 477,899 square foot Ernst & Young Office Tower located in Cleveland. His duties include tenant relations, maintenance, security, budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, contract services, project management, purchasing and the coordination of activities and services between the inter-connected, but separately managed hotel and parking facilities.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Kearney was employed by Carnegie Management and Development Corporation for 13 years as Vice President of Property Management. In his capacity with Carnegie, he managed over 3.5 million square feet of retail, office and government agency facilities. He was responsible for all facets of property operations, including budgeting, purchasing, real estate tax appeals, maintenance, contracts and tenant relations.
Mr. Kearney began his real estate career with First Union Real Estate Investments, a real estate investment trust, where he was employed for over 19 years. In his First Union career, Mr. Kearney served as Budget Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller and Regional Operations Manager. As Regional Operations Manager, he had overall operational responsibility for over 3.8 million square feet of retail space including seven regionally enclosed shopping malls and one community strip center.
He is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He is also a past president of IREM's Northern Ohio Chapter No. 41 and is a former CPM of the Year.
