Ken Manke is the President Life Sciences Division. Working within the firm’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) segment, he has oversight of client accounts operating in the Life Sciences industry whose service requirements include facilities management, project management, advisory and transaction, and consulting services. Ken is also responsible for aligning CBRE’s capabilities with changing industry needs, further enhancing quality and compliance support and providing exceptional outcomes to clients.
Previously, Ken was the Global Alliance Director for a large pharmaceutical client, with accountability for all facilities management, real estate and project management services provided to the client globally.
Prior to CBRE, Ken spent eight years in London with Unilever, where he was part of the leadership team that created and implemented the Global Business Services organization. Over a six-year journey, he led the Workplace Services function, which brought visibility and centralized control to a property portfolio comprising 110 million square feet globally. Ken also established a real estate team that built a portfolio expansion and disposal strategy and delivered exceptional profit growth. With accountability for Unilever’s annual OpEx spend, the team developed a global facilities management framework that was deployed across multiple locations and drove significant savings. In addition, Ken oversaw a significant, global capital program focused on transforming the company’s offices into a consistent and externally recognized level of quality. A key element of this investment was delivering an Agile Working platform across the company globally. The program’s flexible work environments and policies helped drive improved gender diversity, resulting in Unilever being the No. 1 employer of choice in the fast-moving consumer goods industry in over 20 countries.
Before taking on the challenge to create a Workplace Services function, Ken was the VP for HR Services, with accountability for all HR services and operations globally. He led the enterprise transformation as Unilever moved from a decentralized to a centralized organization, in one of the company’s most aggressive and holistic HR transformation initiatives.
Prior to Unilever, Ken held a variety of roles at Whirlpool and Monsanto/Pharmacia/Pfizer in the areas of HR, shared services, supply chain management and procurement at both corporate and manufacturing locations across the U.S.
