Professional Experience

Mark Smith is a member of CBRE's Tri-State Retail Services Team, focusing on portfolio strategy and transaction work for national tenants. Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Smith spent eight years leading the U.S. real estate and finance efforts for Pret A Manger. During his tenure, Pret's domestic presence grew by 300%, contributing to the brand's successful private equity sale to JAB Holdings in 2018.

Mr. Smith has extensive experience building and repositioning prominent retailers, most notably Dunkin', Kate Spade New York, Juicy Couture and Lucky Brand. With a strong background in finance, operations and real estate development, Mr. Smith can effectively help clients assess all investment considerations. 

In addition, Mr. Smith led U.S. operations and expansion for Quarters Co-living, a large residential real estate start-up, driving increased density for multifamily assets. He also served as Director of Real Estate Strategy for Kate Spade New York and managed real estate development and franchise brokerage at Dunkin' Brands. Mr. Smith began his career in Deloitte Consulting's Retail Strategy practice.
