Professional Experience
Joining CBRE Canada from BMO Financial Group in January 2007 Mathew is a senior founding member of CBRE’s Canadian Health Care brokerage practice, one of the most prominent practices of its kind in Canada. Since 2007, the Health Care practice has advised on the sale of over 19,000 senior housing suites across 5 Canadian provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland) representing over $2.3 billion in transaction value.
Mathew has also held a senior role with CBRE’s National Investment Team (Toronto) where he was involved in core-asset class transaction mandates in excess of $5 billion.
Prior to joining NIT Mathew was Manager, Corporate Finance at BMO Financial Group.
Mathew holds a graduate degree in economics with advanced education in the areas of mathematical finance, financial derivatives and advanced statistical methods. Mathew’s graduate thesis, Valuation of Compound Real Options in Real Estate, published by Queens University, was recognized as breaking new ground in the area of applied derivatives.
