Professional Experience


Matthew A. Stephens is Vice President and Team Lead/Mentor, Valuation & Advisory Services within CBRE’s St. Louis, Missouri office, and is part of the National Multifamily Practice Group. Mr. Stephens began his career in real estate valuation in 2002 and joined CBRE in 2012. Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Stephens was a Senior Appraiser with Grubb & Ellis Landauer VAS from 2010- 2012 and Owner/Manager at Paramount Appraisal Company from 2008-2010.

While Mr. Stephens specializes in multifamily, he has 17+ years of experience with a variety of property types including: retail, industrial, office, agricultural, lumberyards, community centers, seniors housing, schools, off-airport parking, self-storage facilities, hotels, recreation facilities, and single-family residences.

Mr. Stephens brings excellent attention to detail and robust reporting and consulting to each assignment. His knowledge of the St. Louis market and deep experience in all property-types bring client confidence in all assignment types including: refinance, internal use purposes, acquisition, estate planning, market and feasibility studies, tax credit analysis, and going-concern valuations. Mr. Stephens currently serves as coach for two youth sports teams at St. Justin the Martyr in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Stephens enjoys spending his free time with his wife and four daughters, fly fishing, skiing, playing soccer, and boating.
