As Managing Director of Marketing and Communications for CBRE in Canada, Ricky Hernden enhances the CBRE brand and empowers sales professionals across the country. He works closely with the Executive Team on brand positioning initiatives, the National Research group on thought leadership and supports the Canadian Management Team with speeches, presentations and client events.
Ricky Hernden has had a varied career in commercial real estate and brings a unique approach to marketing at CBRE. Ricky joined CBRE Limited in 2008 as a member of the National Research Team and developed a deep understanding of market fundamentals while providing internal and external stakeholders with data and analysis. As National Senior Research Analyst, Ricky oversaw the production of quarterly reports, expanded the retail research platform, and served as the industrial analyst for Toronto – the third largest industrial market in North America.
In 2012, Ricky became the first National Manager of Corporate Communications in the history of the Canadian company and helped build a media relations and internal communications platform. Since January 2016, Ricky has led the National Marketing Team. In this capacity, Ricky has been able to increase frontline engagement, elevate thought leadership and enhance collaboration between shared services.
Ricky has been recognized for his efforts at CBRE and was given the 2011 MVP Award which celebrates a non-sales professional who makes an outstanding contribution to the CBRE platform nationally. Ricky holds a degree from Queen's University in Geography and History, and completed a Master's of Science in Urban Planning at the University of Toronto.
